How Vine University Works

ASSIGNMENTS

      • Vine University offers many types of "assignments."
      • Assignments are categorized by New Testament, Old Testament, Practical Theology, Practical Ministry, or Topical Studies. Students may choose to work on any category in any order they desire.
      • An assignment may require you to read a book of the Bible, listen to a sermon, volunteer in a ministry, or other learning opportunity.
      • Each assignment has a quiz at the end, and a score of 70% is required to pass the quiz.
      • The Vine University administrator will download quiz results weekly and track the grade assigned and number of credit hours completed by each student.

      CREDITS

      • Each assignment has a certain number of "credits" assigned to it, based on the expected time required to complete the assignment.
        • Our (Four-Year-equivalent) Bachelor of Science in Christian Studies requires 1000 credits for completion.
        • Our (Two-Year-equivalent) Associates Degree in Christian Studies requires 500 credits for completion.
        • Our (One-Year-equivalent) Certificate Of Advanced Christian Studies requires 250 credits for completion.
        • Each 100 credit milestone achieved will be recognized by a certificate of studies completed.

          • QUIZZES
              • Each assignment or class has a quiz at the end. Students must complete the quiz with a score of 70 (C) or higher to pass.
              • If you score lower than 70, you make retake the quiz as many times as you like, but your grade will be no higher than 70 for that assignment.
              • Quizzes are "open bible, open notes" and have no time limit.
              • Once a week the Vine University administrator will download quiz results and update your progress file if you are enrolled.

                GRADES

                  • Grades for each assignment are assigned as follows: 90-100 (A), 80-89 (B), 70-79 (C), 69-below (F).
                  • Grades and GPA are maintained by the Vine University administrator. Transripts are available upon request.

          COST
        • Free
        • For non-local students there will be a small charge for creating and sending your completion/progress certificates, and for creating and sending transcripts (email administrator if you have questions).

      HOW DO I ENROLL?

        • Send an email to the Vine University Administrator (click here), request to be enrolled, and include your name. Then you can immediately go to work on assignments.

            ACCREDITATION

              • Vine University is investigating opportunities for accreditation but is not currently certified by college accrediting agencies, and there is no guarantee that credits earned at Vine University will be accepted by other colleges.

                PDF FILES

                  • Some assignment require reading materials, which are in Adobe PDF format. If you don't already have this installed you may download the free software.
